Live at Home Scheme

St. Paul's is involved with the MHA Live at Home scheme in Rugeley.

Living in our own home is one way in which we maintain our independence. Yet really “living” is also about friendship and support, about being involved in our community, about getting out and about and simply enjoying ourselves. Sometimes, though, that is easier said than done.

Through local Live at Home schemes, MHA provides social contact and support for older people who wish to continue living at home without becoming isolated. We enable people to live a more fulfilled life.

MHA operate over 70 Live at Home schemes throughout the country. The range of services varies at each scheme, as we respond to the needs of older people in each community. Each has its own Manager and – crucially – a team of committed volunteers. Together they provide a wide range of activities:

Live at Home schemes are supported by MHA’s national staff team, which ensures that standards are maintained and training delivered to volunteers. We believe so strongly in this work that, since 2004, MHA has also promoted similar schemes through other local volunteer-based groups, supporting them with grant funding arrangements.

The Lichfield and District Live at Home Scheme operate the 'Rugeley Good Companions Group'. This is a lunch club, providing a pre-booked 2 course meal, followed by a raffle and entertainment including bingo, quizzes and a guest speaker. It is run by assistant manager Clive Gunner on Tuesdays, between 12.30-15.00 in the lounge at St. Paul's.

The Lichfield office is open Monday-Friday between 9.00am & 3.30pm.
Tel: 01543 415020 (there is a 24 hour answer phone service).

The Rugeley office at St. Paul's may be contacted Wednesday, 9.00am-3.00pm and Friday, 10.00am-2.00pm.
